Mikaiah is a writer and multidisciplinary creative whose
work explores the intersections of identity, memory, and
cultural belonging. Currently based in Austin by way of
Illinois, she blends philosophical curiosity with narrative
insight, often drawing on personal experience to inform
her storytelling. With a deep love for language and
detail, she gravitates toward the quiet power of
observation and how we translate what we see. This
curiosity seeps into all avenues of her work, from the
page to the screen to the needle, where she finds
storytelling in texture, tension, and thread. Her practice
is rooted in slowness, care, and a belief that the smallest
moments are often the most revealing. She is currently
writing her first book, inspired by one of her favorite
pieces of writing, Plato’s Allegory of the Cave.

I’m currently available for freelance writing and sewing commissions.
